Another great book in the series to add to the collection! I have several books in the "Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science" series and my preschooler and I enjoy all of them. "Forces Make Things Move" is about pushing and pulling, friction, and gravity. It has an experiment on friction at the back of the book that the kids can do to try it for themselves. There's a lot of explaining of concepts in this book, so it's better understood by a first grader than preschooler. Well written, nicely illustrated, and entertaining!
Explains the concept of forces very well to kindergartens. Read a little everyday as the text is lengthy.

My five year old son has been asking a lot of questions lately and so I bought a bunch of these books and this was one of them.I love the way they explain how when we exert force on something that things also exerts force on you. It explains the concepts really well. This is not a two line per page book. But it is not too wordy that your kid will lose interest.
good intro to force and motion for first grade and up
I bought this to use with my kindergarten core curriculum unit on movement. It talked about many different kinds of movements and also taught me things I wasn't aware of. It was a useable book.
